Shri Badrinath Dham is located in Garhwal hill tracts along the banks of the Alaknanda River in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. The hill is located 3,133 m (10,279 ft) above the mean sea level. The Nar Parbat mountain is located opposite to the temple, while the Narayana Parbat is located behind the Neelkanth peak.
Driving in hilly terrain is much adventurous and require additional precautions. You can feel presence of Superpower with you and enjoy the nature (mountains, hills, rivers, roads in hilly terrain) while driving through mountains.
The kalkal sound of flowing river, the sound of birds, driving in clouds 💨 make the journey, a not-forgettable memory.
Ancient story of area as described by locals:
Then lord Narayan did tapasaya here and broke one kavach kundal of danav after one day of tapasaya. During tapasaya Goddess Laxmi provided shelter to lord in the form of badri tree (berry). Then the place is known in the name of Badri (Maa Laxmi) Vishal ( Lord Vishnu) or BadriNath.
After 99 days, the danav afraid and returned his last kavach kundal to Lord Sun who later provided the same to his son Veer Karn.
At the end the Lord Vishnu win and danav got veer gati in the hands of Lord.
